With the ever increasing demand for small cars in India combined with profitable future prospects, Germany based luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz is planning to set-up brand centers in major cities of India like New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai. Company is also expected to install one complete manufacturing unit in Chakan, Maharashtra.
Being one of the premium automobile manufacturer companies, Mercedes-Benz wants to get hold of good market share in India and for this the purpose company is thinking of opening brand centers across the country. As the German automaker is facing tough competition from one of its closest rival BMW, having brand centers will help the company in acquiring an edge over it. As per speculations, Mercedes Benz is all set to come up with its first brand center at Gurgaon, and will display entire fleet of cars present in Mercedes’ India portfolio. With a fleet of 40 cars, the company is going to open next brand center in Mumbai later on in the year.
Furthermore, with the increasing list of automobile giants like Hyundai, Honda, Volkswagen, Skoda and recent addition of BMW, Mercedes-Benz is getting quite high competition in Indian car market.
One of the company official said that Mercedes Benz is going to invest around Rs 6,000 crore along with installation of a development unit of cars in India. Furthermore he said that company is planning to increase the participation of local vendors and thinking of assembling cars of luxury segment within the country.
