    Mercedes-Benz to increase assembly in India

    Mercedes-Benz makes big this season with new cars, AMG Driving academy and the company now eyes increased localisation. Mercedes schemes to topple BMW’s dominance in the Indian car market which has become more of a common knowledge of late. And the extended assembly of Mercedes cars like Mercedes Benz B-Class hatchback and Mercedes Benz M-Class in India is a key part of its strategy.

    The idea behind this is to get the pricing down to under Rs 25 lakh segment especially for Indian consumers which is only possible with increased assembly at their local plant in Pune. According to Debashish Mitra, the president of Sales and Marketing department of Mercedes-Benz India, the German car manufacturer's plans for Indian car market is well on track who hopes to sell around 25,000 cars in the coming four to five years.
