Let’s take a look at the MG Hector’s five monotone colour options to find out the best option for you
-
MG Hector’s colour options include Candy White, Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Glaze Red and Burgundy Red.
-
The MG Hector is priced between Rs 12.18 lakh and Rs 16.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
-
Rivals such as the Tata Harrier Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass get dual-tone colour options.
The MG Hector, which was launched at an introductory price of Rs 12.18 lakh, is available in four variants depending on the powertrain you choose. It is offered with a diesel, petrol and petrol-mild hybrid engine option along with two transmission options - a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT). But what about the colour options? The mid-size SUV is offered in five monotone colour options. Let’s take a look at each one.
Candy White
White is the staple choice for most car buyers in the country. And the Hector’s shade of white is quite glossy and rich, especially when you count the dollops of chrome on the exterior. The Hector with the Candy White paint looks the most elegant and premium. Given how popular cars painted in white are, this shade might even offer a better resale value compared to the other options.
Starry Black
Go for t.his paint option if you prefer something stealthy. This colour provides a nice contrasting effect against the chrome on the exterior. So if you like staying under the radar, this is the shade for you
Aurora Silver
The silver paint option offers the best of both worlds. It neither craves for attention nor is it too dull to go unnoticed. If you can’t decide on your favourite colour, the Hector finished in Aurora Silver might just do the trick for you.
Glaze Red
Since you’ve bought a brand new SUV, it’s imperative you want to turn some heads, don’t you? The Glaze Red shade of the MG Hector does exactly that as it the flagship colour of the SUV. Almost all promotional material for the SUV features the Hector in this shade. Go for this, if you want to capture the MG Hector’s design essence in all its glory.
Burgundy Red
If red is the colour of your liking but Glaze Red is a bit too loud for you, then this makes sense for you.
Our Pick
The Burgundy Red tone seems the better pick purely for aesthetic purposes. It is a unique colour in not just the Hector’s palette but also among its segment rivals.
However, we wish MG offered the Hector with optional dual-tone colour options too. That said, MG might introduce dual tone options in the future as its current rivals - the Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass and the Tata Harrier - are already available with dual-tone colours. Where the Hyundai and Tata can be had with two different combinations, the Compass gets five! The upcoming Kia Seltos will also offer a choice of five dual-tone colour options as well.
Priced from Rs 12.18 lakh to Rs 16.88 lakh, the Hector not only takes on the Harrier, Compass and the Tucson, but also rivals higher variants of the Hyundai Creta.
