M&M mulls Verito variants and a SUV by year end

The unsuccessful partnership of Mahindra and Mahindra with the French Automobile company- Renault, led the Indian car manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra to relaunch Mahindra Logan as Mahindra Verito. It is speculated that M&M is planning to launch two new variants of Mahindra Verito soon.Mr. Pawan Goenka stated that out of Mahindra Verito's two new variants one would be a refreshed version and the other may be a smaller car with sub-four metre length. According to the reports it is believed that M&M may also introduce a new SUV by the end of this year.

Mr. Goenka's also mentioned about its South Korean auto company Ssang Yong Motor Company (SYMC),he said that the sales of the cars have been satisfactory as SYMC has sold 55,000 units in 6 months and they aim to sell 1.25 lakhs units in 2011. If reports are to be believed then M&M has prior notified to invest $250 million in SYMC for product development and other processes. M&M is looking forward to launch SYMC's products- Mahindra Rexton and Mahindra Korando-C till the end of this year. He further added that the Korean firm has increased their exports and are interested in independent exports of its automobile products.

The company has established a new plant for the manufacturing of their new Electric car Mahindra Reva EV NXR launching next year. Mr. R. Chandramouli quoted that this car will be costlier than the existing model. The current model ranges from Rs. 3.36 lakh to Rs. 3.89 lakh. The company had already sold out 600 cars in the year 2010 and is expecting to sell 100 more this year. Various financial schemes are also introduced to attract more customers which may increase its sales in India.The various other models of Mahindra & Mahindra available in India are- Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Scorpio W, Mahindra Xylo, Mahindra Thar.
