Munjal Savla will start from pole position despite championship leader and local hero Vishnu Prasad, who produced a stellar performance at Irungattukottai Race track in Sriperumbudur setting the best lap time of 2:05.574. He will start tenth on the grid due to a penalty during Round Three of the competition. He was closely followed by Munjal Savla with a best lap time of 2:05.604 and Oshan Kothadiya with a best lap time of 2:05.669, who will be promoted up to first and second on the grid respectively. The second row of the grid was completed with Avdumber Hede and Rahil Noorani in 3rd and 4th position respectively.

Vishnu Prasad got the fastest time on a damp track in his first qualifying lap itself, but will start tenth on the grid due to a flag violation penalty giving way to Munjal Savla in car # 6 who will start in first position on the grid. Most of the best lap times were set during the later stages of the qualifying when the track dried up. Speaking on winning the Pole Position, Munjal Savla said, “I had a good day today and I am very happy to start on Pole position. Starting on the front row is definitely an advantage and I hope I can get a good start and pull away. With the field so close together it is going to be a very exciting race.”

Second on the grid, Oshan Kothadiya who was in car # 14 said, “It was a good start to the race weekend today and it is great to start on the first row. I hope to drive on a dry circuit tomorrow unlike today and hope to take a win home. The gap in the championship is reducing among the top 5 contenders, but there is still a long way to go for me.” Thanks to its proven concept of promoting young talent abroad, the Polo Cup enjoys the reputation of being an ideal stepping stone to enter professional racing. Building on its success with the debut Polo Cup India last year, Volkswagen Motorsport will continue to make Polo R Cup the premier touring car championship in the country.
