New BMW 6 series concept unveiled

The German auto maker BMW has unveiled the official BMW 6 series concept model, scheduled to be displayed at Paris Auto Show. The coupe concept BMW 6 series has been added with a number of borrowed features from the concept Gran Coupe, displayed at Beijing International Automotive Exhibition in China; however, featured with some distinctive things that include BMW's trademark kidney grille, new ORVMs, bumper integrated full-width air intake, 20 inch aluminum wheels, LED adaptive headlights, four tailpipe exhaust system, etc. The cabin has got new 10.2 inch iDrive display centrally positioned at instrument panel, head-up function and two-tone leather upholstery with wood trim and black details. This time the boot has been integrated with spoiler into the metal.

The concept BMW 6 series which is reported to be in production, is equipped with 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system. Insiders also suggests that the company may launch a fabric-roofed convertible version in the end of 2011. The coupe concept model seems a bit wider and lower than existing 6 series cars. According to the sources, the production model will have more or less the same look but with a little changes made to it. The car will also have improved wheelbase that will result in spacious cabin. Nevertheless it will have the same boot space.

The German car major has not disclosed any information regarding its powertrain but it is believed that it would be fitted with a 4.4 litre V8, 395 bhp engine that might generate a top torque of 609 NM.
