The Sporty Powertrain
Powering the BMW X4 M40i is the 3-litre turbo-petrol engine which makes 360PS and 500Nm. This engine is mated to a 48V mild hybrid system, and the power is delivered via an 8-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels. It takes 4.9 seconds for the X4 M40i to run from 0 to 100kmph.
The X4 M40i comes with further dynamic enhancements like the M Sport differential, which controls the distribution of power to each wheel for improved traction and control during cornering. It also features M adaptive suspension, where the shock absorbers are electromagnetically controlled, and the dampers adjust themselves according to the road conditions ahead. Additionally, BMW has equipped the SUV with a variable sport steering wheel for more responsive handling.
Rivals
The BMW X4 M40i doesn’t have any direct rivals in India, but it can be regarded as a sportier looking alternative to the BMW X3 M40i. Also, if you are interested in sporty SUV coupes priced under Rs 1 crore, you can also look at electric options like the Volvo C40 Recharge or the Kia EV6 crossover.
