New Chevrolet Cruze electric launched

After tasting success with its Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Beat, General Motors is now promoting and popularizing the electric variant of its Chevrolet Cruze, a popular sedan of the company named as Chevrolet e-Cruze. Recently, the company introduced the electric model in South Korea. At present, this model has been introduced in South Korea only. General Motors has not stated yet about the next probable destinations of launch for the model.
The electric Chvrolet Cruze or the Chevrolet e-Cruze model of General Motors which was launched in Seoul constitutes a part of extended-range plug-in vehicles which is provided by General Motors. The Chevrolet Cruze electric variant incorporates a 31-kWh battery. This battery is capable of generating a max of 150 kW power or around 102.5 miles per hour with a 0-60 kmph of about 8.2 seconds. The real world range has still to be finished. The Cruze EV has shown a 100-mile range.

The testing of new Chevrolet e-Cruze is expected to start by the end of October. General Motors India also intends to launch its electric vehicle product range in India but the company has has canceled its partnership with Reva. General Motors’ Chevrolet Volt and Chevrolet Spark are among the possible electric models which will soon make it to the Indian market. GM has not yet commented about introducing its e-Cruze in other emerging markets.
The company is all set to introduce the new Beat in the European market. Also, the Chevrolet Beat will see its clone but in a bigger form with Chevrolet Aveo sedan 2012.
