New Hyundai i20’s Dual-tone Variants Cost Rs 15,000 More Than Monotone Colours

Hyundai offers two dual-tone options: red with black roof and white with black roof.
The dual-tone variants are offered with all three engines: 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel depending on the powertrain chosen.
The Tata Altroz and VW Polo are also offered with different top hats in the segment.
Hyundai has priced the new i20 from Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 11.32 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The new i20 is the most expensive model in the segment.

Hyundai’s premium hatchback, the i20, has been launched in its third-gen avatar. While the carmaker announced the prices of the monotone variants at the time of launch, it has now revealed the prices of the dual-tone options. Here’s a look:

The dual-tone paint option is available in three trims and eleven variants depending on the powertrain. It is priced at a premium of Rs 15,000 over the monotone variants. Hyundai is offering two dual-tone paint options: red and white body shades with black roof for both. Apart from the new i20, the Tata Altroz is also offered with a black roof (with select exterior shades) while Volkswagen recently introduced the Red and White Edition of the Polo that gets either a white or black roof.

Hyundai is offering the dual-tone shade with all three engines of the new i20: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (83PS/114Nm), a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (120PS/172Nm), and a 1.5-litre diesel (100PS/240Nm). The 1.2-litre petrol engine is mated to either a 5-speed MT or CVT while the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol comes coupled with either a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) or 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission). On the other hand, the 1.5-litre diesel is offered with a 6-speed MT only.

As far as competition is concerned, it goes up against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno/Toyota Glanza, Honda Jazz, VW Polo, and Tata Altroz.
