There is some disappointing news from the Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. which recently suffered through great losses due to the strike at the Manesar plant. There are reports that the workers strike at Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar Plant in Haryana has not only resulted the revenue loss to the company but has also affected the production of almost 14,000 units of car on time. Maruti Suzuki India Limited had earlier announced that it will be launching the upgraded model of small car Maruti Swift in the hatchback segment of cars in the Indian car market in the month of August 2011.

But now as the impact of workers strike, the launch of New Maruti Swift on announced date seems not to be possible as Maruti Suzuki India will have to regularize the supply of already pending orders due to strike. According to the reports Maruti Suzuki India has accelerated the production of unit at Manesar Plant to 108% more of its total production capacity and therefore now it cannot pressurize its workers with extra working option to make the launch of New Maruti Swift on time.

As far as New Maruti Swift is concerned there are rumours that it will be equipped with powerful and fuel economic 1.3L petrol engine based on VVT-I technology whereas the diesel variant will be equipped with 1.3L diesel multijet engine.
