New Toyota Vios Showcased in Shanghai

At the Shanghai Auto Show, Toyota Motor Corporation showcased its all new Vios, which is also named as Yaris in other auto markets. The same car was also put on display at the recently held Bangkok motor show. The Vios saloon sits below the company's flagship premium sedan Corolla in most nations. The newer version of the Vios gets an all-new redesigned front fascia and a much sharper, dynamic and more aggressive appearance. The interiors also comes with chrome inserts, also has a new black and beige colour theme.

Toyota officials said that, the Vios is specially designed "for global markets with world class standards." The new Vios comes loaded with projector headlights, alloy wheels and chrome inserts on the body. The new Toyota Vios will be powered by the 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that is capable of generating 107bhp. The engine of the car is coupled to a five speed manual transmission, while the top-of-line variant comes equipped with a four-speed automatic gearbox.

However, the company hasn't made any comment on the launch of new Vios in India. Although, the company's official website tells that the new Vios is specially made under the Toyota's global strategy. If it would make its way to India, then it will be positioned between the Etios and the Corolla, and would compete against the like of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid

Along with New Vios, Toyota also showcased New Yaris, Alphard Welcab, FT-HT Yuejia and Yungdong Shaungqing II. The company also displayed its entire models at the Auto Show.
