Together with criticism over the crowd mismanagement, the organizes of the Auto Expo are considering to increase the duration of the event by about one or may be two days longer next time. This decision has been thought upon seeing the keen interest from the auto fanatics. According to the chairman of CII Trade Fairs Council, Mr. Rajive Kaul, all the organizers are thinking to extend the duration of the Auto Expo for a few more days from next time onwards.
But the final decision has to be taken by exhibitors as every extra day would add on cost for them. Mr. Kaul also mentioned that all of the planners and exhibitors learnt a very important lesson at the 2012 Auto Expo, which is one day should be exclusively reserved for the media and no extra entry passes should be given to others on that particular day.
The Auto Expo 2012 was proudly co-hosted by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), which started from January 5th and will continue till 11th January 2012 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
Mr. Kaul also understood that the crowd management is a major challenge for the organizers of the biggest Auto event in India. Managing the crowd is not an easy task as there is a lot of interest from people of different age groups, whereas the infrastructural blockage remains constant.
He also added that the organizers are already doing their job alright to make the easier for the stakeholders of the event. The exhibition space at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012 has been cut down to create about 10,000 square meters of free space for the people to roam around. Moreover, the number of exhibitors has also been reduced to 1500 from 2100.
