Ford has revealed few images of the next generation Figo (known as 'KA' in Brazil) ahead of its imminent launch in Brazil. Ford India showcased the Figo concept (compact sedan) at the 2014 Auto Expo, the compact sedan is an extended version of the KA concept company showcased earlier. The hatch is expected to launch in Brazil in coming months and is likely to hit the Indian shore early next year. On the design front, the production version is subtly diluted from the concept version, though the overall of the concept is retained.

Ford Figo Production Spec changes

Exteriors

  • Speaking of the front, the Aston Martin esque grille is devoid of chromed slats which the concept version sported. The production spec grille features a honey combed one with chrome lining.
  • The LED lighting of the concept version are altered to conventional one, retaining the shape of the unit.
  • The front bumper is carry forward from the 'KA' concept featuring rounded fogs.
  • The side profile of the vehicle is kept same. The tyre size is unknown as of now but the car is likely to sport 15 inch in top Titanium. The car receives new set of alloys.
  • The rear profile of the nex-gen Figo is identical to the concept's including tail lamp cluster. The upcoming hatch ditched the Christmas-tree layout of the current Figo's taillights, featuring wrap-around ones.

Interiors

  • Ford has kept the interior look of the upcoming KA (Figo) in Brazil under wraps until its launch.
  • The upcoming car might get its interiors inspired from the elder siblings EcoSport and Fiesta.
  • It is highly expected that the vehicle will get all the gizmo's from the Ecosport like the voice controls, SYNC powered infotainment system with Applink connectivity, automatic conditioning.

Engines

  • Reportedly, the new Figo will come equipped with Ford's new 1.0 liter ECOnetic petrol motor. The 3-cylinder engine produces a healthy 85bhp.
  • The diesel trim is likely to receive the 1.5 liter TDCI unit from the EcoSport. The engine churns out 90bhp and 204Nm of max torque.

Ford might not discontinue the current Figo, like they did with the previous Fiesta re-badged it as 'Classic' with a lower price tag when the current Fiesta landed. This will help the company to increase its foot prints in entry level segments. Cheers!
