Nissan Micra ready to launch in India by July 10

Nissan Micra, the global small car from Japan based car maker Nissan, is now all set to enter in Indian market as company has announced that it is going to launch this model in India by July, this year. The company is aiming to sell around 80,000 units of Nissan Micra by March 2011. Company is also planning to export the Nissan Micra model from India by the month of June this year.
The Nissan Micra model will be launched with a 1.2L, diesel engine which generates maximum power of 80PS at torque of 108Nm. Though the company is also planning to launch another hatch version of the Nissan Micra powered with a supercharged direct-injection engine, which will be able to generate maximum power of 100hp at the torque of 142 NM.
Besides Nissan Micra the company is also in the process of launching an ultra low cost car at its Chennai facility where it is investing about Rs 4500 crores along with its JV partners Renault and Bajaj. The ultra low cost car is expected to be launched in India by year 2012.
Nissan currently sales three cars in India including X-Trail, 370Z and Teana models. The Nissan Teana and Nissan X-Trail are the first products in the Indian market. Where the X-Trail was introduced in year 2005, the Teana was introduced in year 2007.
