Electric vehicles are gradually making their way up in the auto industry, a recent example of this is the announcement made by Renault Nissan regarding the sales of their electric vehicles. The CEO of the company, Mr. Carlos Ghosn revealed recently that by 2020 electric vehicles would contribute 10 percent to the total sales of Renault Nissan. The company already flaunts an electric car in its line-up which is known as Nissan Leaf. The company has witnessed a sale of 11,000 units of Nissan Leaf in the US car market and 27,000 around the world. On account of the high rate of increase in the prices of fuel everywhere in the world, electric vehicles come up as the best substitute and the prospective buyers are sure to drift to this technology in future.
The technology is still in a nascent stage but with bettering infrastructure and increasing awareness, electric vehicles are sure to grab much attention from the customers in near future. There is no car customer on the face of this planet who does not think about the affordability of the car before purchasing it. The electric vehicles are expected to revolutionize the perspective of the entire auto business with their attractive and affordable prices. To create more awareness and appeal to more buyers, Nissan Renault is soon to launch a new Leaf campaign. Nissan Renault is also planning on localizing the production of Leaf in US and England which would help the company to achieve its target of 10% share of electric vehicles in its sales by 2020.
