Nissan starts soft marketing of Micra In India

Nissan Micra, the much awaited premium hatchback in India, is going to be launched in the country very soon, as the company has started the initial marketing of this car. Nissan India has already completed the process of Micra's trial exports to Europe from its Chennai plant.
Initially, the company has started its soft marketing initiative called 'exposure marketing' to spread brand awareness and seek insights from potential buyers of Micra. The car maker has constructed its special pavilions with LCD display kiosks and shoppers, at high marketing areas like shopping malls in different cities across the country. The initial marketing activities that started in Pune and Bangalore on May 5, will continue till December 2010.

As the company is gearing up to start its sales program in July 2010, it is constantly looking at new innovative platforms to reach out to its target and prospective customers, said, Kiminobu Tokuyama, the company's managing director. The
Micra model is expected to be launched in the month of July with a price tag of Rs 4 to 5 lakh. It will be competing against some of the most popular cars of this segment including Maruti Swift, Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo and Volkswagen Polo.
