The Nissan Sunny is already available with a CVT gearbox around the world and hence entering Indian car market would not be an arduous task for it.

Ford Fiesta, Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti SX4 are the major rivals that Nissan Sunny has on the Indian roads and all these cars have an automatic variant lined up. Except for Verna, the major competitors are offering the automatic variant in the petrol version. Now since the sales of petrol vehicles in the country have hit rock bottom, it is advisable for Nissan that it introduces the automatic variant in the diesel version.
