Nissan’s sub Micra entry level car to be launched by 2013-2014

Nissan’s upcoming small entry car which will sit below Nissan Micra has done quite some rounds in car news industry. But, recently close sources have revealed that the car maker will not bring this small car before 2013-14. Therefore the sub-Micra small car price is out of question as of now. Another important expectation which is abuzz is the arrival of diesel engine in this mini car-an event never ever happened before in an entry level car. This car will compete directly with Maruti Alto, the king of forest and other entry level cars in India.

Nissan India is operational in India since five years and floats 5 models in Indian car market till date. However, the Japanese car company has huge plans to thrive in India and therefore it is planning to slip in a car in the small segment to cater to all audience. India’s best selling segment remains the entry level small cars and so Nissan will leave no stone unturned to strategize well with the upcoming car. Nissan’s engineers are working for over a year to create this product but speculations are rife that it will take at least two more years to see the dawn in India.

Nissan Micra, which is tagged at a higher price, suffers from sluggish sales due to lack of sufficient dealers and service outlets of Nissan in India. However, Nissan India is supposed to have taken a lesson out of this and therefore has kept the Nissan Sunny price very decently. The automaker is working in tandem with a firm called Hover Automotive India which will take charge of expanding dealership and after sales footprint of Nissan cars in India. The company is also likely to work aggressively with the pricing of the new small car as Maruti India, Hyundai India, Volkswagen and Ford India are already waged in a price war in this segment.
