Over 150 Kia EV6 Crossovers Reach Customers In First Delivery Month

The EV6 was launched earlier this year, but deliveries of the electric car commenced only before Diwali in October

• Kia retailed over 23,000 vehicles in October 2022.

• The EV6 is imported into India as a completely built-up unit (CBU).

• It is priced from Rs 59.95 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

Kia India commenced the deliveries of its first electric offering for the country, the EV6, in October and managed to handover 152 units to customers amid high demand during the festive season.

The EV6 comes with a 77.4kWh battery pack and a claimed range of up to 528km on a single charge. It gets two powertrain options: a single motor rear-wheel drive setup (making 229PS and 350Nm) and a dual motor all-wheel drive setup (making 325PS and 605Nm).

Kia’s electric vehicle gets dual 12.3-inch curved touchscreen displays, ventilated and power-adjustable front seats, a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, eight airbags and ADAS functionalities.

The EV6 sits in a pricey segment and is brought to India via the CBU route. The Kia EV6’s asking price ranges from Rs 59.95 lakh to Rs 64.95 lakh (ex-showroom) and rivals the likes of the BMW i4 and Volvo XC40 Recharge and upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5. 

Apart from the EV6, Kia also sold 9,777 units of Seltos, 7,614 units of Sonet, and 5,479 and 301 units of Carens and Carnival, respectively. This helped the carmaker cross the two lakh units mark in 2022.
