Parth Ghorpade wins 2nd race in Round 4 of Volkswagen-JK Tyre Polo Cup India 2010 in Chennai

Parth Ghorpade, championship contender and the young driver from Kolhapur, put on an impressive display to win the 2nd race of Round 4 of the Volkswagen-JK Tyre Polo Cup India 2010 at the Irungattukottai Race Track, Chennai. Mumbai driver Mohammed Fahad Kutty finished in second position ahead of Imran Majid. Ghorpade finished the race in 3.717 km track in a time 25:13.862 to win his second race of the season. These winners and the other drivers presented an interesting show for the audience. The fans were cheering their drivers at the wheel. Parth proved to be a silent contender who displayed some amazing skills to capture and maintain the lead position.
Gert Bergmann, Member of the Board of Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt Ltd. commented that it was really great to be at the Chennai circuit to watch his first Polo Cup race in India. It was a thrilling experience. The Volkswagen Motorsport team has been doing a great job and he was glad to see all the drivers giving it their all over here, added Bergmann. Parth Ghorpade , the winner stated that it was good to be there on podium again. Chennai is definitely a faster track and presents different challenges from racing in Coimbatore. He also thanked the Volkswagen team for their training and said that it surely helped him get to that position. Second placed Mohd Fahad Kutty said that he had a great day and the cars handled very well. It was a tough race throughout. Parth gave him a good fight till the end, added Kutty. Third placed Imran Majid commented that it was his first time on the podium and it was an exciting feeling. The wear and tear on their tyres was a little more in that round because of the new track, said Majid.
The Polo Cup India’s first round in Chennai and 4th round of the season will be followed by races each month until December. The remaining races will take place on the race circuit in Chennai.
