Parth Ghorpade wins Polo Cup India 2010

Parth Ghorpade, a young talent from Kolhapur, astound the audience with his stand out performance in the 5th round of the Polo Cup organised in Chennai by Volkswagen Motorsports. By now 5 rounds have been successfully completed by the young racers with all enthusiasm among the audience. Parth Ghorpade stood as a strong competitor from the beginning and at the 5th round he raised as the winner through some of the rare techniques used on track.
When the race has reached its second lat round, every little win is being crucial to its participants. And at this high priority, Parth Ghorpade managed the top position in the Championship standings with a total of 359 points. Sailesh Bolisetti, the former leader and Vishnu Prasad, the Chennai Hero adjusted to second and third position with 333 and 277 points respectively.
The fifth round of this exciting championship was attended by many race enthusiasts and was filled with close competition. The racers showcased some real remarkable talent to grab the podium places. During this second last round 17-year old Parth Ghorpade managed the first position by overtaking Sailesh Bolisetti who has been the top performer since last 2 rounds. This made the audience raise from their chairs. Vishnu Prasad was also able to bag a few crucial points but was also affected with minor setbacks. But still Chennai champ managed the 3rd position in race 1 and was the winner in race 2. But these crucial points pushed him to first three position from earlier 5th position.
On the big success, the champion commented that he is very excited to stood at the top at this point of time. He admitted that last races brought a lot to him and he expect a lot from the last round and is waiting for the big day with full verve. So far the championship has been full of excitement and surprises for its viewers and now with that people are waiting for December 19, 2010 as it will determine the ultimate winner of Polo Cup 2010 at Irungattukottai Race Track, Chennai.
At this big event Prithviraj Siddappa who is the Head of Motorsports for Volkswagen India commented that he was very excited for this race as with this they have stepped closer to the finale. He also said that with every round passing, competition among young drivers is increasing exponentially and this is the time they can simply come out with the best in them.
This unique championship is an initiative from Volkswagen motorsports which is also involved in robust activities like German F3 Cup, F3 Euro Series, Dakar Rally and 24-hours of Nuerburgring. Volkswagen Cup races are a big success in China, South Africa now will be India as well from 2010.
