BMW unveiled meaner looking X3 at the ongoing 84th Geneva Motor Show. The changes are just not limited to cosmetic one, the refreshed X3 gets new 2.0 litre efficient turbo diesel motor. The car is expected to land in India later this year. BMW India is keen to bring this product asap as the rival Audi Q3 is getting on the nerves of X3 and also the updated engine powers plenty of cars in the BMW India lineup.
The biggest change in the X3 is at its heart, BMW X3 comes in two twin turbo diesel engine options in India, namely, in two variant xDrive20d and xDrive30d. The refreshed SUV in the xDrive20d will have next generation 2.0 litre four-cylinder twin turbo diesel engine churning out 190hp of max power and 400Nm of peak torque. The uprated engine has 6hp increase in power plus a 20Nm increase in torque over the earlier mill.
The xDrive30d, the flagship variant of the X3 comes with the existing in-line six-cylinder twin turbo diesel mustering 258bhp of max power and 560Nm of peak torque.
Speaking of the exterior changes, apart from the new twin kidney grille the vehicle will get restyled front and rear bumpers echoing the bigger sibling X5 and following new design language of BMW. The headlight looks sharper compared to the outgoing version, changes include LED turn indicators. The other exterior changes includes side repeaters on the exteriors wing mirrors and tweaked rear tail lamp cluster.
On the inside, the car boosts subtle changes that includes new glossy center finish, new upholstery options and automatic tailgate opening ( which is standard across all variants). The SUV will come in new set of alloys and shades options. The car is also equipped with updated infotainment system along with touch iDrive controller.
