Renault Alpine Vision Concept Renault have revealed the Alpine Vision Concept Sports car that will make it to the world by 2017. With this reveal, the French manufacturer aims at bringing back their iconic Alpine performance cars. Cars like the Alpine A110 (Berlinetta 1300G) ruled the rallying world, in the hay days of this performance brand. Unlike the classic era, Renault plans to peg this Alpine against the likes of Porsche Cayman 718, once the car is launched.

Renault Alpine A110 Berlinetta & Vision Concept

The looks as one can notice, evokes images from the original Alpine. The four separate lamps up front, the subtle protrusion that runs in the middle of the bonnet and the C-shaped rear windscreen. All of these are reminiscent of the Alpine A110 (Berlinetta 1300G). Sure the manufacturer didn’t want to shed the old car’s classic appeal.

To achieve performance, Renault has gone the light way, instead of putting in big power numbers. The mid-engined car is expected to get a 250 bhp 1.8-litre inline four turbo petrol motor. Naturally, it’s a rear wheel driven car and might send the power using a dual-clutch gearbox. This seemingly modest motor will take this car from 0-100 kmph in and under 4.5 seconds, as the weight could be around 1100 kilos.

Renault Alpine Vision Interiors

The previewed car’s interiors are very futuristic and are bound to be different, as this is just a concept version. It has a very contemporary layout - with lots of leather upholstery, a floating infotainment screen with an analog clock and sporty controls on the central console mounted right over something that seems like an A/C vent. One can also peek into the partly visible instrument cluster that depicts some graphs and figures, which seem like performance stats.

The car is expected to go on sale in the UK by second quarter of 2017 and could be priced over £40,000 (INR 40 lacs).
