Recently, the much-anticipated Renault Duster SUV was caught in lens while undergoing rigorous testing in Chennai. Different variants of this new car were spotted and the spy-shots of the one of the variants in red color suggest that the wing mirrors, the fog lamps and running boards all adopt the same color as that of the body of the car. Also spotted was a white color car that missed on all the aforementioned things and it has been deduced that it could be the base variant.
Renault India will roll out Duster in five variants; the base variant will bear a price tag of Rs. 7 lakh and will extract power from a 1.6-liter petrol engine. The top variant range of the Duster will be housed with the 1.5-liter diesel engine that is also doing duty in the Renault Fluence; the higher variant range will be available in two states of tune one would form the entry level variant with 85 BHP power and the other would form top of the line variant with 108 BHP of power. The Renault Duster is based on the European version of the Logan sedan and thus a lot of similarity in the interiors of the both cars can be noticed.
The Indian car market would luckily be more chic and up-market with the dual tone theme of the interiors. In terms of pricing the car is expected to break some legs; in India it is guessed to be priced in the Rs. 7-11 lakh bracket. Renault India hopes for an annual sales figure of 50,000 units including the ones that are supposed to be exported to the markets that support right hand drive like UK. Renault Duster is soon going to traverse the roads soon enough and a Nissan-badged version of the Duster SUV is also likely to be introduced.
