Rolls Royce has launched their new car, Dawn today. We were invited to join the company for its first ever global online launch and this is an extremely modern approach for the traditional automaker. The car manages to stand true to the aesthetics that were deduced from the spy-shots and the teaser images of the car, which were making rounds online. The car is available in a soft-top version and this can be attributed to Rolls's fondness of the romanticism between the soft-top roof and the rain drops falling on it. The Rolls Royce Dawn is an open-top version of the Rolls-Royce Wraith coupé and will go on sale in the first quarter of 2016 following its debut today.

The name ‘Dawn’ dates back to the 1949, when it was first used by RR and remained in use for its cars until 1954, which also included the Rolls Royce Silver Dawn. The car shares its wheelbase with the Wraith and comes in the same two-door layout. The Ghost styling can be clearly seen in the front-end design and the gently sloping rear deck.

The car features the same 624bhp, twin-turbocharged 6.6-litre V12 engine, which it shares with the Rolls Royce Wraith. Mechanically, one can argue that the Rolls Royce Dawn is identical to Wraith with slight updates, which it happens to be based on. The big Goliath V12 engine, is mated to an automatic transmission. The car comes with "Mandarin" interiors and features the "Midnight Sapphire" color scheme. The wheelbase of the car is 180mm shorter than that of the Ghost. Soft-top retracts silently in 22 seconds at speeds of 50km/h and the interiors also feature a touchpad with character recognition for text entry into the navigation system.
If you are one of those rare few, who plan on getting their hands on one of these beauties, then you might be dissapointed, as all RR Dawns have been sold out for the first year. You can still look at them, as they hit the roads when deliveries start early next year.
