Skoda’s first product based on the new MQB-A0 IN platform has finally entered the market

The Skoda Kushaq is priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 17.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

It is offered with 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines, both with manual and automatic transmissions.

The Kushaq is available in three trims: Active, Ambition and Style. Only top-spec gets the choice of 1.5-litre turbo-petrol.

The Skoda Kushaq has been launched in India with prices starting from Rs 10.49 lakh. It is a petrol-only compact SUV available in three trims: Active, Ambition and Style. The variant-wise prices are as follows:

The Kushaq is offered with a 115PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 150PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, both paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. Each gets an automatic option too: 6-speed torque converter for the smaller engine and a 7-speed DSG (dual-clutch automatic) for the big one. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine also features Active Cylinder Tech (ACT) which can shut down two of its four cylinders when possible to maximise fuel efficiency. This engine is available with the top-spec Style variant only.

As a premium offering, the Kushaq is well equipped in terms of comfort and tech. It gets ventilated front seats, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology, a sunroof, ambient lighting and cruise control. Skoda has given it adequate safety features too with upto six airbags, a rear parking camera, multi-collision braking and a tyre pressure monitoring system. It also gets electronic stability control as standard with dual front airbags, ABS and rear parking sensors.
The bookings for the Skoda Kushaq are now open but note that deliveries for the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol variants will begin from the first week of August.
The Skoda Kushaq rivals the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross in the compact SUV space. It will also take on the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun and 2022 Mahindra Scorpio.
