As per the word on street Chevrolet is going to roll out the revamped version of Cruze with an entire new line-up this May. The features that were incorporated in the high-end variant of the sedan, now going to be added in its entry-level offering; meaning the cost of the base level variant can be hiked as it is now going to feature rich. The engine although is going to be the same i.e.the 16V SOHC , however the engine is expected to come mated with six speed manual as well as automatic transmission gearbox which is going to increase the engine’s performance.
The power and the torque figures propelled by the engine are also likely to surge. A new engine is also speculated to come with new Chevrolet Cruze which is the 2.0 L Z-series engine that produces a peak power of 163 Bhp and 350 Nm torque. New Chevrolet Cruze 2012 sedan dimensions are not expected to change, with the ambience enriched with the luxury features. The central console expected to be features seen in the top class variants and the interiors are going to be more sophisticated with dual-tone color scheme. Chevrolet has introduced a 1.7L VCDi engine in U.K. however it seems like the revamped version of Cruze that is expected to launch this May will not have this engine in any of the variants.
The petrol engine also does not seem in the near vicinity and Chevrolet is also not looking forward to introduce the 2.2L petrol engine, which will be seen under the hood of Chevrolet Captiva facelift version. Chevrolet Captiva sedan is in limelight for quite a while now and will go against the likes of Volkswagen Jetta, Toyota Corolla and Skoda Laura. The changes on the exteriors include revamped fog lamps, the Chevy bowtie is going to be place a bit higher. The storage space is also expected to go high. The price estimated for the refreshed Chevrolet Cruze is around Rs.14 lakh.
