The Suzuki’s global hatch - Celerio will go on sale in Europe starting February 2015. In UK, the hatch will be available in two variants - SZ3 and SZ4, prices starts at £7,999 (approximately 7.72 lac) and £8,999 (approximately 8.69 lac) respectively. Maruti has launched Celerio at the Auto Expo starting this year but unlike ours, Suzuki Celerio offers standard six airbags (driver, passenger, side and curtain) along with ESP to meet the stringent European safety norms. We earlier reported Suzuki Celerio to go on sale in UK.
On the design front, Celerio in UK is similar to what we get with subtle changes. Speaking of the features, Celerio SZ3 gets AC, Bluetooth enabled audio system, remote central locking and alloy wheels. While the SZ4 adds machined alloy wheels, rear power windows, front fog lamps, etc.
Mechanically, Celerio in UK is also powered by the same 1.0-liter K10B motor. Like ours, the engine produces 68 PS and 90 Nm of max torque, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The vehicle in UK delivers 65.7mpg on the EC combined cycle (nearly 28 kmpl) and offers low CO2 emissions of 99g/km.
Suzuki says automatic variant of Celerio - AMT aka AGS (Auto Gear Shift) will be available from 2015 summer and Japanese automaker will also add an engine option - the Dualjet version of the 1.0-liter K-series engine. The Dualjet version will increase the power along with improved efficiency of 78.4 mpg (33 kmpl) and CO2 emissions will fall to just 84g/km!
