Suzuki to Open New Plant in Gujarat by 2017; Line-up to increase to 25 models!

In PM Modi's visit to Japan, Osamu Suzuki said Suzuki's third manufacturing facility is likely to be operational by 2017. Apart from the Gujarat's upcoming new facility, Suzuki has two fully operational facilities at Gurgaon and Manesar plants producing 1.5 million units annually. In a recent report Maruti is trying to pump the annual production to double the current output to 3 million units. The new manufacturing facility will definitely help the automaker to reach desired results. Moreover, company will also increase the line-up to 25 models to reach the expected 3 million unit sales target.

Osamu Suzuki, Suzuki Motor Corporation Chairman & CEO, commented, "The company (Suzuki) has selected Gujarat for its new facility because it has good infrastructure of roads and has abundant power supply."

Swift Sports

SX4–Cross

SX4-Cross was also showcased alongside the Ciaz at the Auto Expo, while Ciaz has already arrived SX4-Cross is currently doing test rounds in India. The crossover is expected to go on sales in early next year packing Suzuki's ALLGRIP 4WD technology and acres of space along with appealing features inside-out.

XA Alpha

Shown at the 2012 Auto Expo, reportedly Maruti is also working on compact SUV apart from the SX4-Cross (which is over 4m). In a recent report, Maruti said that they will be providing inputs to parent company Suzuki in future products to reduce the royalty paid. Company said that compact SUV will be the first product of this jointly developed vehicle.
