The Indian auto major, Tata Motors has unveiled an updated version of its flagship crossover, Aria at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, which is to launch in European market as well. However, India will be the first market to get the updated Aria which now features an even more powerful engine and automatic transmission. The car has also received some cosmetic changes, making it look refreshed. The car is likely to launch in India in the third quarter of 2013.
The 2.2-litre Dicor engine is however the same, it now gets a new turbocharger and tweaked engine ECU, making it churn out 138bhp to 158bhp and improved torque. The car also gets a six-speed automatic transmission, becoming the first car from Tata to get an AT. The new transmission has been designed to balance the increased power and torque.
As far as the cosmetic changes are concerned, it now gets a double-tone paint job, daytime running lights, headlamps with black inserts, revised tail map, new 19-inch alloy wheels and leather seats, which has helped the already a superb car becoming even more upmarket. Tata Motors also launched a stripped down version of the Aria at sub Rs 10 lakh price in several cities targeting the commercial passenger market, which is to launch all over India soon.
This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for more updates on the same. Cheers!
