Tata eyes opening 300 outlets for Nano

Tata Motors have now decided to make the smallest and the cheapest car of Indian market Tata Nano available to the people living in rural and the semi-urban parts of the country. The company said that they are planning to launch 300 outlets dedicated to Tata Nano, in 2011-2012, to meet the demands of the rural areas of the country.

To increase the sales of Tata Nano, the company has even decided to export this car in the new car markets like SriLanka and Nepal. These steps taken by the company would help them in increasing the sales of this small car and would reduce that the fluctuations in the sales figure that the company have seen in past few months.

According to the data revealed it is found that the sales of this car halved to 5,451 cars in the month of July which was earlier 10,012 cars in the month of April.A company's spokesperson said that the company feels that there should be more outlets around the country. They will open 300 new outlets in the rural and the semi-urban parts of the country. At present Tata Nano is sold via 600 outlets, and the company also have 200 experience points.

The company is looking forward to reach the full production level of 2.5 lakh cars a year for Tata Nano at the Sanand plant.A senior official in April said that the company is targeting to increase the manufacturing capacity to 18,000- 20,000 cars a month in the year 2011-2012. At present the company manufactures 10,000 – 15,000 cars a month.This smallest and the cheapest car was first revealed in 2008 at the Delhi Auto Expo, the car was expected to provide the customers an affordable means of transport.Till the year 2009 the sales of the car were good, but from 2010 the company noticed reduction in the sales of the car. There has been a regular up-down in the sales figure of the car.
