Tata Indica Vista EVX wins eco friendly EV award

Tata Indica Vista EVX developed by Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC) engineers won the most economic small passenger electric car and the most envioronment friendly small passenger electric car award in small passenger electric vehicle category at the Royal Automobile Club at Future car challenge between Brighton to London. The main objective of Royal Automobile Club was to promote and showcase the envioronment-friendly technologies. Around 60 vehicles participated from all the major Original Equipments Manufacturers(OEM's), private manufacturers and individual entries. Electric, Hybrid and Low Emission Internal Combustion vehicles participated in the rally. The energy consumption for the vehicles was calculated through different channels from Brigton to London.

Tata Indica Vista EVX competed with other brands like BMW, Mitsubishi and SMART. Future Car Challege victory for Tata Indica Vista EVX symbolizes the caliber and capability of Tata Motors and is a remarkable acheivement for TMETC for their innovative and new technologies. Tata Motors is one of the leading auto makers.Tata Motors eversince its  establishment there has become one of the largest Indian employers in UK. It has got 19 companies all across UK and 47,000 employees. Tata is also one of the largest investors in UK. In international market Tata generates combined revenue of more than 7 billion Dollars. Tata owns some renowned brands like Jaguar, Land Rover, Quilon, Tata Consultancy services, Tata Steel Europe and many more.

In India Tata leads in commercial vehicles and is one of the top three passenger car manufacturers. It has operated in UK, Spain, Thailand and South Korea through subsidiaries. Tata vehicles are well renowened for their fuel efficiency and low emission vehicles. In January 2008, the company launched Tata Nano and they got a record number of bookings for this car due to its comfort safety and low budget price in the domestic market. Now they are planning to come with the hybrid version of Tata Nano and some upgradtion in the product.
