Tata Motors, India's leading car manufacturer is planning to refresh its flagship Indica Vista hatchback, and the facelift version of the vehicle has already been spotted during its test rounds near Coimbatore.
Though the spotted car is completely camouflaged, but we managed to get some important details about the updates it received. The Indica Vista is expected to get a series of styling changes, making it look refreshed. The front fascia of the car seems to be inspired by the Manza hybrid, that was showcased at the last year's Auto Expo. The car is likely to get a new set of headlights and a redesigned front bumper with triangular airdams.
The rear end of the vehicle is expected to house an all-new tail lamps, and the company could remove the current Christmas-tree arrangement. The number plate at the rear also fitted on the boot-lid instead of the rear bumper.
We expect that the 2014 Vista hatchback would retain the current engine configuration. The vehicle will be powered by the 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel engine (Quadrajet), that will be tuned to offer two range of power output - 74bhp and 88bhp. The petrol version continues with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out maximum power output of 64bhp. Currently, the homegrown automajor also sells the Vista hatchback with the 1.4-litre TDI diesel engine that produces 70bhp, however this engine is of BS3 compliant, and it is quite early to comment whether the company will launch the updated hatch with this engine as well.
Tata Motors is expected to unveil the new Indica Vista at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, and will also present the updated Manza at the same event.
