With the growing demands for diesel and automatic cars, there has been a rise in demand for automatic transmissions for diesel vehicles. Upto the C+ segment, there is only one vehicle in this segment that has a diesel automatic- the Hyundai Verna.
With the rising demands for diesel hatchbacks, the need for diesel automatic hatches is also on the rise. Some manufacturers have already started working on this, and even Tata is making a diesel automatic for its Manza and the Vista. If we add two and two, we can conclude that this gearbox will be bought from ZF, which supplies transmission to JLR and also will be propelling the wheels of the automatic Aria.
With the Vista D90 coming in, Tata seems to be looking at things positively for this vehicle and further taking the brand to the next level. Coming up with an automatic will take manufacturers some good time and it doesn't seem too long when we will see who will b the first to break the ice.
