Tata Motors gains Italian design house for Rs 11.29 crore

Tata Motors has announced that it has gained 80 per cent stake in Trilix Srl. Trilix Srl is an Italian design and engineering firm for Rs 11.29 crore, that is, 1.85 million Euro. The company said in a statement that the acquisition is in line with the objective of the company for enhancing and encouraging its design capabilities and styling for the global standards.
In the past, both the companies, Tata Motors and Trilix Srl have worked together on few of the projects. The statement said that over the years Trilix has developed a powerful understanding of the Tata brand and excellent working relationships with the company in few projects, added the statement. In Trilix, the remaining stake is held by Federico Muzio, company’s promoters and Justyn Norek. The company, with a turnover of 4 million Euro and net profit of 2,50,000 Euro, provides engineering services and design in the automotive sector. These include architecture, styling, packaging and surfacing.
As per the analysts, the aforesaid acquisition is not a very important one in terms of size of the deal but it will surely help and support Tata Motors to enhance its capabilities of design. Angel Broking, Analyst Vaishali Jajoo said that it is a very small deal in terms of size. But the company is expecting some positive results from its new launches and re-launches as well.
