Tata Motors sales grew in every segment

Beating the global downturn, Indian auto companies registered positive sales growth in their respective segments. Tata Motors, Maruti, Ford, Fiat, Hyundai and General Motors sold a good number of vehicles in India in September. Tata Motors enjoyed the same increased sales figures in the month. It posted 5.77 per cent growth by selling 52,513 units as compared to 49,647 units in September last year. As far as passenger vehicles are concerned, the company registered 9.59 per cent improvement at 18,176 units against 16,586 units the same month in 2008. only one area was not up to the mark that is export. The vehicle export lowered by 35.12 per cent at 2,863 units as compared to 4,413 units in September, 2008. Tata Sumo, Tata Safari and Tata Indigo recorded negative sales figures in the month. On the other hand, Tata Indica range became the best seller for the company and sales increased up 15 per cent against September last year. In the commercial vehicles segment, sales in September in the domestic market stood at 31,474 units, compared with 28,648 units sold in the same month last year, up 9.86 per cent. Light commercial vehicles sales during the month were at 18,454 units, up 16 per cent, while medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales stood at 13,020 units, a jump of two per cent compared with September, 2008. In the festive season you may hope for new cars in india and used cars segment will see more numbers in their stable.
