Tata Motors Witnessed a Growth of 30%

The homegrown manufacturer Tata Motors has reported fair growth in terms of total sales last month. The company sold 12,040 passenger vehicles in December 2014 as compared to 9,272 units, same period last year. With this the company has achieved a year on year growth of 30 per cent and out of 12,040 units, the automaker retailed 9,956 units of Zest and Nano while the remaining 2,084 units sales were filled by Utility Vehicles. While in terms of cumulative sales of all passenger vehicles in the domestic market, the figure stood at 92,227 units, lower by 11% against fiscal year 2013.

In terms of exports, the automaker shipped 3,958 units in December 2014 compared to 2,826 vehicles in the same time frame last year. On the other hand, the exports witnessed a growth of 40 per cent. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal stood at 36,626 units which grew marginally by 1%, over last year.

Moreover, the manufacturer will expand its model lineup by launching the Bolt hatch in coming days. As per the latest update, the automaker will introduce Bolt on 20th January, 2015. The online booking for the same has already started at an upfront payment of Rs 11,000. The Bolt hatch is the second product under the company's 'Horizonext' banner and hosts similar features as of Zest. 

Under the hood, the car is powered by 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged Multi-point Fuel Injection (MPFi) petrol engine which churns a max power of 90 bhp and peak torque of 140 Nm. While the diesel model gets 1.3-litre Quadrajet engine tuned to deliver an output of 75 bhp with 190 Nm of peak torque.
