Tata Nano soon to be launched in Bangladesh

Tata Nano will be entering Bangladesh borders from next month. Tata Motors have strike a deal earlier last year and was suppose to launch Tata Nano in Bangladesh in October, but was delayed due to some price issues and now its all set to launch in the first week of March. According to Abdul Matlub Ahmed, chairman of Nitol -Niloy group, the company will initially import 2000 Nano vehicles, later depending upon the demand; they can import more units of the hatchback in future.

The company officials of Nitol-Niloy are expecting a good demand for this car, as this car is one of the smallest cars in the world and also is available at an affordable price. According to Bangladesh currency Tata Nano will be available at 50,00,000 Bangladeshi Taka [BDT], which is approximately Rs 3 lakh in Indian currency. But the final price may vary depending upon the government’s decision on customs duty.

Used cars from Japan were extremely popular in the county these vehicles suited their road and traffic conditions but were expensive at the same time. Ambassador was alo imported to Bangladesh which was used as taxi cabs. Mr. Ahmed further stated that the company could also set up a facility for Tata Nano if the demand surges, as of the now the company is expecting to sell 10,000 units of Nano in a year.
