At the same price point, the Tata Punch EV Empowered Plus S Long Range is a much better equipped offering than the XUV400 EC Pro considering the former is the top-spec variant.
-
The fully loaded Punch EV gets premium features such as ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, dual 10.25-inch displays (one for instrumentation and the other for infotainment), and leatherette upholstery.
-
On the other hand, the XUV400 EC Pro is packed with only some comfort and convenience features like push-button start/stop, dual-zone AC, keyless entry, and all four power windows.
-
In terms of safety, the Punch EV is a bit ahead as well with technology such as a 360-degree camera, six airbags, and electronic parking brake with auto hold.
-
Mahindra is offering the XUV400 EC Pro’s safety net with some basic features including dual front airbags, electronic stability programme, and rear parking sensors.
Verdict
It’s clear that the Punch EV Empowered Plus S Long Range offers more value for the price. The higher range, faster charging option, and much longer list of premium comforts – than the base-spec XUV400 – make it a far better package.
However, if you prefer something with more road presence and a true EV drive experience with rapid acceleration over increased range, the XUV400 EC Pro is more suited for you. Its bigger dimensions, which lead to a more spacious cabin, make it slightly more suitable as a family car. Not to forget, the XUV400 also has the upper hand when it comes to the boot space on offer that will help pack a couple of additional soft bags for the weekend family trip.
So, which of these two electric SUVs would you pick and why? Let us know in the comments.
