Toyota Innova is one of the best-selling cars in the MPV segment. And to enhance its popularity in the segment, Toyota Motors has taken up the initiative to launch the Toyota Innova facelift at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo. Apparently, it is the same model which is already available in the other South East Asian countries that supports the right hand drive models. The recent sightings of the new Innova during the test rounds can further establish the fact that the launch is just few months away.

The alterations made on the new Innova are mere superficial changes including the expert touches offered here and there to enhance the image of the car. The majority of the makeover, as it usually happens, is done in the front end bestowing a whole new look to the grille with the chrome finish. The modified grille has led to the change in the front bumpers for compatibility. The headlamps are redesigned to look magnified and to add character to the fascia. To match up with the fresher frontal appearance, the rear end has been altered with a new set of tail lamps. All in all, the Japanese auto major has worked towards improving the Innova sales gearing up to the competition the contemporaries are posing.

The engine of the Toyota Innova MPV is what the car manufacturer has left untouched. The same 2.0L D-4D diesel engine powers the car to generate an impressive power output of 105 Bhp. The auto major has decided to carry the same 2.0 L petrol engine forward with the variable valve technology that has the capacity to produce the peak power of 140 Bhp. Launching the revamped versions has become essential of late with the growing competition where new cars penetration has outgrown the demand. Many SUVs and MPVs have been launched in the past two months and probably this has driven the auto major to strategise on the launch of Toyota Innova facelift. Moreover, the company plans to ramp up the production capacity in the country to reduce the waiting period to 1-2 months which currently stands at 3-4 months.
