Now, for us, for the automotive industry, there are some developments too. The iPhone 14 and iOS 16 now get some features that will be useful for car owners. Here are the top three features that Apple’s flagship phone will boast:
Crash Notification
The iPhone 14 boasts of a crash detection feature which notifies your emergency contact in case of an accident. The GPS detects the speed changes, the barometer will detect the cabin pressure and the microphone will recognize the accident or loud thud noises. Once detected, the system will send a notification to the phone as well as the Apple Watch. If the user doesn’t respond to the notification in 10 seconds a notification will be sent to the user’s emergency contact.
Emergency Satellite SOS
In case you’re stranded without any network connection and want to send an emergency message, this feature of the iPhone 14 comes into play. If you’re in a clear open space, you can directly point your phone towards the sky and the system will tell you which direction the satellite is. Once the satellite is detected, a short emergency text will be sent to the Apple Replay centre, which will further pass on the notification to the emergency contact. You can even specify the emergency and accordingly, the text will be sent in 15 seconds. You can use this feature to even share your live location on Find My.
Turn By Turn Navigation Made Easy
The iPhone’s new “display island” shows a variety of information which also includes turn-by-turn direction. So just switch on the maps and even if you have changed the screen, you can see the turn-by-turn directions on the display notch. You can use it even if you’re not on the ‘Maps’ window.
