Toyota Etios launched at Auto Expo

Toyota Etios unveiled today at the 10th Auto Expo, managed to draw huge attention amongst many Concept Cars launched today. Toyota Etios, would be launched in both Hatchback and Sedan model. The Sedan would be launched first in late 2010 followed by the hatchback in 2011. Toyota Motors, is undoubtedly recognising India as the most potential automotive market and with the launch of Toyota Etios plans to compete the likes of Maruti Suzuki. Top officials from Toyota promise to get the car with best possible competitive price for the Indian consumer. The Etios will have 1.4 litre diesel and 1.2 liter or 1.3 liter petrol engine. Toyota Etios, Toyota Prius and a total of 14 cars are to be showcased here by Toyota Motors.
As revealed here the 10t Auto Expo, the concept car took 4 years to be completely launched by 2000 engineers. Toyota Motors was seen quoting that the car is perfect for Indian driving conditions and is designed especially for that.
Toyota Kirloskar at present sells five car models in India including the Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry, Toyota Innova, Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Land Cruiser. It stopped producing the Toyota Qualis to make way for the Toyota Innova, which was launched in India in 2005. The most expensive car from Toyota is the Land Cruiser Prado. Toyota Kirloskar’s motor India wants to capture 10% share in the Indian market by 2018. Toyota also expects sale in India that will hit 3 millions unit in 2016. some say that may hit 4 millions in 2020.
