As we all know the Japanese automobile giant Toyota was planning to launch its first hatchback car in India . With “Toyota Etios Liva” first show cased at Auto Expo (2010), Indian automobile market was hoping for its early release. After the display in auto expo “Etios hatchback” swiped the market with over 10,000 bookings within weeks after price was announced. Furthermore, the car was spotted on test ride on the Bangalore roads.

As per reports, there were large numbers of booking cancelation after the induction of large number of hatchback cars from other brands. Furthermore, Toyota also experienced a setback dude to component shortage issues arose due to 11th March earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
It is being speculated that company is planning to launch Toyota Etios Liva diesel in Indian car market and the possibility of long queues outside Toyota showrooms is quite high. The Toyota Etios petrol is likely to come added with a 1.2L petrol VVT engine and it will be followed by Etios diesel model which is going be powered by a 1.4L engine.

As per reports, Toyota Etios Liva hatchback is going to contribute in the small car segment. Furthermore, Toyota Motors is also considering the export plans of Toyota Etios Liva to countries around the world. With this latest entry in hatchback car segment, Toyota is going to have a good competition against Hyundai i10, Maruti Swift and Chevrolet Beat.

According to reliable sources, Toyota has delayed the release of Etios Liva hatchback and other variant Etios sedan’s diesel till the first quarter of 2012. If sources are to be believed then this delay is due to the production of Etios petrol sedan cars which are manufactured by Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM).
Earlier, Toyota announced that their company is going to delay the launch of Toyota Liva and Toyota Etios diesel cars to June 2011, but now, the wait is going to extend for another nine months.
