Toyota Etios sedan manufacturing begins

Toyota Etios, the sedan which was recently launched in the Indian auto market with a price tag of Rs 5 lakh by the Japanese auto giant Toyota Motors has finally begun with its production at the company's manufacturing plant. The new sedan in the Indian auto market received tremendous response as the company, in just few days registered a booking of 12,000 sedans. The Toyota Etios is being manufactured at Toyota Motors' new manufacturing facility at plant number 2 in Bangalore. The sedan will be competing with the already established Maruti Swift Dzire, Tata Manza, Mahindra Logan and the likes. In 2011, Toyota Motors is coming with the hatchback Toyota Etios Liva which will be launched in April, 2011 which is another addition in the existing portfolio. The Japanese auto giants plans to manufacture 70,000 units of the its hatchback Toyota Etios Liva and the sedan Toyota Etios. Atusuhi Niimi, Executive Vice President, Toyota Motors Corporation present in the ceremony said that the company holds the responsibility to give high quailty cost effective cars which meets the requirements and expectations of the Indian car enthusiast.

In its manufacturing unit, Toyota is developing the sedan with more than 70 per cent of the localized components and plans to increase it to 90 per cent by 2013. The auto giant plans to build the locally made engine in its fourth quarter of 2012 and it is expected that the manufacturing for the transmission will begin by 2013. It is speculated that Toyota Motors will ship Toyota Etios and Toyota Etios Liva in the auto markets of Thailand, Brazil and China. The Japanese auto giant mainly designed the car for the emerging auto markets. Apart from Toyota Etios, the Japanese auto giant currently holds the Indian auto market's grip with its premium class car models spread in various categories. These are Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla Altis, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Innova, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Toyota Land Cruiser and Toyota Prius.

Apart from the Indian auto market, Toyota in its homeground is also playing its cards right. The company recently showcased the Toyota Vitz, thrid generation, small car. Toyota Vitz is one of the best selling petro car in Japan. The new car model was displayed in Yokohama, Tokyo on December 22nd. The new model displayed ensures excellent mileage of 26.5 km/litre.
