Toyota Etios wins the Car of the Year Award

India's most authoritative and comprehensive award in the auto motors segment CNBC-TV 18, ICICI Bank car loans along with Overdrive announced the eleventh edition of the awards. The beautiful saloon from the Japanese manufacturers, Toyota Etios was awarded as Car of the Year. The award ceremony was held in Mumbai recently and was aimed at recognising the future of the auto industry with great emphasis on green technology and conservation of environment.

Great personalities like Dia Mirza and Dino Morea, Kiran Bedi, Dinesh Kumar, Prasoon Joshi, Hiroshi Nakagawa, MD, TKM; R. C. Bhargava, Chairman, MSIL, Capt. Gopinath the Founder of Deccan 360 and Rajeev Bajaj who is the President of Bajaj Automobiles, were present at the event.

Adressing the occasion, Mr. Anil Uniyal who is the CEO in CNBC-TV18 and CNBC AWAAZ commented that for an 11 years period the prestigious CNBC-TV18 Overdrive Awards is able to det benchmarks for the excellence in automotive segment. He said that every year a new category is added to the awards and the main aim behind the addition is to honour the talent in automobile industry which has helped it grow considering the environment factor. He said that the awards are a medium to honour these great initiatives and they expect that through it, the winners will be encouraged to set examples in the industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajiv Sabharwal who is the Executive Director of ICICI Bank Ltd. Said that announcing the prestigious awards in partnership with the great names makes the company proud with every passing year. He commented that a 30% growth is experienced in Indian auto market whereas 32% growth is shown by commercial vehicles and 17 to 18 per cent in two wheeler segment and the major reason behind these spectacular growth is the increasing per capita income. He also said that company works in collaboration with the companies that build fuel efficient cars and its company's pleasure to help financing these models.
