Toyota foresees 38% hike In sales for 2010

Toyota, the Japanese automobile manufacturer is looking forward for a tremendous 38% hike in sales for the year 2010. The company is aiming at a sale figure of 74,000 units as per the statements made by top officials.

Coming to the last year's sales figure of Toyota, it flaunted a total sales of 54,000 units which included all models present in its portfolio. As compared to the last year's figures, the company is expecting a total sales of 74,000 units this year. The claim of 38% jump is made by the executive managing coordinator and director of Toyota Kirloskar Motors, Mr. Koji Nagata.

He also commented that with the launch of the most pocket friendly luxury car, Toyota Etios, the company will easily reach the sales figure of 1,50,000 units by 2011 and the company is sure to break all previous records with this spectacular model. The selling of the famous Toyota Etios will start in January 2011 and it will then be followed by its hatchback version named Toyota Etios Liva which will open for sales from the month of April 2011. This will further push the sales of Japanese car manufacturer. The company is expecting a sale of 70,000 units from Toyota Etios and Toyota Etios Liva alone.

With Toyota Etios, the company has made its debut in the low priced car market and the first affordable luxury car from Toyota is attracting the customers in a large scale which is also evident from the ample pre orders already registered by Toyota dealers.

The compact car segment is most lucrative market as it is growing exponentially with time and constitutes 50 per cent of total passenger car industry. Mr. Nagata commented that with Toyota Etios, the company wants to enter the mainstream market from the present premium segment. This shows that Japanese major doesn't want to limit itself to the premium market alone.

The company has kept the localisation level up to 70% yet and has strong plans to stretch it to 90% in the coming years. The company officials of Toyota Motors have shown their interest in increasing the localisation level of Toyota Etios many times and. The company also intends to spread their dealership network to 150 from present 97 by 2011. To reach the big targets, Toyota has been working hard towards the second plant where an investment of 6000 crore has already been made.
