Toyota recently announced a recall for 6,481 units of the Glanza hatchback which is essentially a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno. The Baleno itself was recalled around the same time for the same issue.
The carmaker has recalled the Glanzas manufactured between April 2 and October 6, 2019, which are suspected to have an issue with the fuel pump. Toyota dealerships have been contacting owners of the suspected vehicles to bring their cars to them or a service centre for an inspection. The carmaker is replacing the faulty part free of cost.

The Glanza is offered with a single 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 82.9PS and 113Nm with the choice of a 5-speed manual and a CVT auto. It also gets the option of a mild-hybrid petrol engine in a single variant that increases power output to 89.7PS with the 5-speed manual.
While it is yet not yet known whether it’s safe to use the affected cars in their current condition, we recommend contacting the nearest Toyota dealership to find out if your vehicle is affected. It is best to get your vehicle inspected at the earliest to keep it in the best of health.
