Toyota to produce 5k vehicles by July

Toyota Kirloskar Motors has decided to increase its vehicle production to full capacity in India in the next two months. The company planned to manufacture 3800 units in May 2009 and gradually increase its capacity to 5,000 units by July. The company had slashed its production to 3500 unit per month in November last year. Toyota also intended to roll out two new models this year and expand its dealership network by adding 65 more dealers across the country.
TKM Deputy Managing Director (Marketing) Sandeep Singh said that owing to the market's performance last year, the company cut their output, but since in the last four months the market was coming back on track, it was decided to increase the production of vehicles from May.
