There are a lot of new cars waiting to be launched in 2024, with most of them being SUVs and a fair share of EVs as well
After an action-packed 2023 for the Indian auto industry, with launches like the facelifted Tata SUVs and the Honda Elevate, 2024 also promises to pack a lot of new launches and unveils. This includes a lot of internal combustion engine (ICE) models along with many electric vehicles (EVs) as well. Here’s a list of all the new cars expected/confirmed to go on sale in 2024 in India:
Maruti
New Maruti Swift
The Maruti Swift is set to get a generational upgrade next year, giving it fresh looks inside and out, along with a new 3-cylinder petrol engine. It will likely come with a bigger 9-inch touchscreen, up to six airbags and even blind spot detection, as seen in recent spy shots of the new Swift test mules.
Expected Price: Rs 6 lakh
Expected Launch: First half of 2024
New Maruti Dzire
Current-gen Dzire shown for representation purposes only
The Maruti Dzire is the sedan version of the Maruti Swift hatchback. With the latter now entering a new generation, the sedan is in for a similar update as well. Expect mechanical and feature revisions to be in line with those of the new Swift, with Dzire-specific design differences at the rear.
Expected Price: Rs 7 lakh
Expected Launch: To Be Announced
Maruti S-Presso Facelift
Current S-Presso shown for representation purposes only
With the Maruti S-Presso having been on sale for over four years now, we feel it could be time the carmaker gave it a major makeover next year. Although not much is known about the exact changes, we believe Maruti could give it a slightly redone fascia and some mild tweaks on the inside. The S-Presso facelift should retain the hatchback’s petrol and CNG powertrain options.
Expected Price: Rs 4.5 lakh
Expected Launch: To Be Announced
Maruti eVX
It looks like 2024 will also witness the arrival of the first-ever Maruti EV, the eVX. Although originally scheduled to arrive in 2025, the electric SUV’s test mules have already been spotted a few times, suggesting it could be ready for production soon. Maruti will likely offer it with a 60 kWh battery pack having a claimed range of 550 km.
Expected Price: Rs 22 lakh
Expected Launch: To Be Confirmed
Toyota

Back in November 2023, we got an update on the Maruti Fronx-based Toyota’s sub-4m crossover SUV, which is likely to be called the Taisor. Like all shared products between the two brands, the Taisor will also get minor styling tweaks over the Fronx in addition to the change of badges all around. That said, there won’t be any alterations in its features and powertrain.
Expected Price: Rs 8 lakh
Expected Launch: March 2024
Hyundai
Hyundai Creta Facelift

Probably the biggest launch for Hyundai next year will be the Creta facelift. The midlife refresh will give it a new look inside and out, while also giving it more features including a 360-degree camera and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The compact SUV will also get the new 160 PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine from the 2023 Kia Seltos.
Expected Price: Rs 10.50 lakh
Expected Launch: January 16
Hyundai Alcazar Facelift
The Hyundai Alcazar, often seen as a 3-row Creta, is also set to receive a facelift in 2024. Expect minor cosmetic enhancements inside and out, while carrying on with a similar features set possibly with the inclusion of ADAS. It will retain the existing model’s petrol and diesel powertrains.
Expected Price: Rs 17 lakh

Hyundai Tucson Facelift
While the fourth-gen Hyundai Tucson was launched in India only in 2022, its global-spec version has already received an update in late 2023. The facelifted Tucson gets mild styling tweaks for the exterior and an updated interior (featuring a connected screens setup), while already being a feature-loaded package. When it comes to India, we expect the premium SUV to continue with the current model’s petrol and diesel engine options.
Expected Price: Rs 29.50 lakh
Expected Launch: Second half of 2024
New Hyundai Kona Electric
Back in the first quarter of 2023, the second-generation Hyundai Kona Electric was unveiled, which is significantly bigger (and better in many ways) than the current India-spec model. It sports Hyundai’s latest design philosophy and has a base-level 48.4 kWh battery pack good for a WLTP-rated range of 377 km.
Expected Price: Rs 25 lakh

New Hyundai Santa Fe
In 2023, Hyundai brought out a new generation of its flagship 3-row SUV, the Santa Fe. It features dual wireless phone charging pads, dual digital displays, and even ADAS. Internationally, it is a petrol-only offering including a 2.5-litre turbo unit and a hybrid powertrain as well. However, the chances of this behemoth coming to our shores is quite slim.
Expected Price: Rs 50 lakh
Expected Launch: To Be Announced
Hyundai Ioniq 5 N And/Or Hyundai Ioniq 6
The 2023 Auto Expo saw India get the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric crossover as a locally assembled offering. But in the middle of the same year, the Korean marque revealed the performance-focussed N version of the Ioniq 5, which comes with an 84 kWh battery pack and a 600 PS electric powertrain.
While a hopped-up performance electric crossover SUV is an uncertain bet, there is also the potential of getting the Ioniq 6, a sedan alternative to the Kia EV6 and Ioniq 5 which was showcased at Auto Expo 2023. Expect it to get the same 72.6 kWh battery pack from the Ioniq 5 to drive the rear wheels, but maybe more claimed range thanks to the sleeker shape.
Expected Price: To Be Announced (Ioniq 5 N), Rs 65 lakh (Ioniq 6)
Expected Launch: To Be Announced (both)

Tata Punch EV
The plans for an electric Tata Punch have been in place since before the micro-SUV was launched. Now, there have been numerous spy shots of the Tata Punch EV circulating online for a big part of 2023. It will go on sale in 2024 having a new look with the same styling as the refreshed Nexon and also get some additional features. If Tata is to be believed, the Punch EV is said to offer a range of 500 km with two battery pack options.

Tata Punch Facelift
Current Tata Punch's image used for representation purposes only
Back in 2021, the Tata Punch was introduced as a micro SUV and it managed to carve out a new segment below the Tata Nexon. We believe 2024 could see Tata give the Punch a mild makeover inside and out, along with some feature enhancements including a bigger touchscreen. Mechanically, there shouldn’t be any changes for the micro SUV.

The Tata Cuvv will be offered with combustion engines too, and will arrive AFTER the EV. It should get a similar features set as the Curvv EV, including digital displays and ADAS.

No major mechanical changes are expected over the standard Altroz, apart from the Nexon-sourced 120 PS turbo-petrol engine.
Expected Price: Rs 10 lakh
Expected Launch: To Be Confirmed
Tata Harrier EV
The recently launched Tata Harrier facelift will soon have an all-electric version in the form of the Harrier EV. It will carry on with a similar design theme and features set but will have multiple electric powertrain choices, which should be good enough for over 500 km of range.
