Prices start at Rs 7.91 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)

Japanese carmaker Nissan today launched the updated Sunny sedan in India. Prices start at Rs 7.91 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and the sedan will be available for sale across all its authorised dealerships in the country from today.

So what’s new in its armour? For a start, customers can opt for a new body colour - Sandstone Brown. The car also gets chrome garnishing on door handles and the interior now has an option of an all-black finish, including dual-tone black and gray fabric seats and black-coloured plastic panels on the interior trim to complete the makeover.

Customers have an option to choose from a 1.5-litre HR15 petrol engine or a 1.5-litre DCi diesel mill. While the petrol engine is available with a 5-speed manual transmission or a XTRONIC CVT (continuously variable transmission), the diesel is only available with the 5-speed manual gearbox. The petrol engine is tuned to pump out 99PS (101PS with CVT) of power and 134Nm of torque and the diesel motor churns out 86PS of power and 200Nm of torque.

The updated Sunny is available in five variants - XE, XL, XV, XV CVT and XV Premium (Safety). Where the petrol engine is on offer with three out of the five variants - XE, XL and XV CVT, the diesel is offered on all trim levels but the XV CVT variant. Safety features like ABS, EBD and Brake Assist are available across all variants but where the XV, XV CVT and XV Premium (Safety) get at least two airbags, the XE and XL get only the driver-side airbag. The base XE variant also misses out on features like Bluetooth connectivity, remote keyless entry, automatic air conditioning, all four power windows, rear center arm-rest, anti-theft device with alarm and steering-mounted audio controls.

Here is the variant-wise price-list:

Variant Fuel-Type Price (Ex-showroom, Delhi)
XE Petrol Rs 7,91,300
XE Diesel Rs 8,80,066
XL Petrol Rs 8,40,133
XL Diesel Rs 9,46,035
XV Diesel Rs 9,93,000
